CURCHOREM: The Carnival float parade under the banner of Navyug Vikas Manch (NVM) will be held on March 5, at Quepem.
According to the President of the NVM and MLA of Quepem Constituency Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, NVM is organising the float parade every year in Quepem without any financial support from the government.
“This year we would celebrate the carnival by involving people not only from Quepem but from Quepem Constituency and therefore we have chosen Johnson Jaques from Nuvem in Khola as King Momo and Cindica Fernandes from Quepem as Queen,” he said.
President of the Celebration Committee Ivo Daniel said that Rs 70,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 will be awarded as first, second and third prizes respectively, besides two consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each.
