MARGAO: The National President of Congress’ student wing, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), alleged involvement of BJP elected representatives in the cash-for-jobs scam.

Varun Choudhary added that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should resign if he can’t protect the image of Goa, which was already being tarnished due to other scams such as land grabbing scam.
NSUI leaders expressed concerns that the unemployment figures in Goa is quite high and the youth are forced to move out of the State or country in search of employment opportunities. They added that against that backdrop, “to find out that government jobs are being sold is condemnable”.
Choudhary questioned the status of the investigation into audio recordings which allegedly established the involvement of MLAs or people close to them. He said there should be a fair and impartial inquiry into such matters so that the truth comes out and persons responsible need to be held accountable.
NSUI criticised the State government for its recent initiative to implement mandatory uniform for colleges and said this showed how the government has misplaced priorities while at the same time rampant corruption was going on unabated.
