Margao council opens technical bids for Sonsodo

The Margao Municipal Council on Monday opened the technical bids submitted by Ahmedabad-based P U Asnani, Hyderabad-based Ramky Envio Engineering Ltd and Senes for appointment as consultants to monitor the work of installation of the waste processing and disposal facility at Sonsodo.
Out of the four consultants which, had evinced interest in the Expression of Interest floated by the Margao civic body, only these three consultants finally submitted their technical and financial bids. The fourth consultant Aecom was conspicuous by its absence.
After opening the technical bids, Chief Officer Prasanna Acharya instructed the Municipal technical section to scrutinize the technical bid before placing the same before the High Powered Committee headed by the Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat. The financial bids will be placed directly before the high powered committee for scrutiny and approval.
The Civic body had invited the Request for Proposal (RFP) to monitor the construction of the landfill carried out at the garbage dump site in accordance with the MSW (Management & Handling) Rules 2000 and to certify successfully the work at the site.
Though the Margao Municipal Council has finally received three bids for appointment as consultants to monitor the work of installation of the waste processing and disposal facility at Sonsodo, the high powered committee has resolved to take a final call on the matter.
At the last meeting of the High Powered Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, it was resolved that the Civic body has to complete the process of the Request for Proposal, but the final decision on the appointment of the consultant would rest with the committee.
