AAP criticises Minister over DDSSY cancellation

PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party criticised Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo for his remarks inclusion of Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) scheme for COVID treatment will increase “burden” on the private hospitals.

“Former Lokayukta was apt to say Lobo is unfit to be a minister. His statement proves that he has no intentions for the welfare of common man. Most of the ministers took treatment in the private hospitals but they are not ok with if a common man has access to the same facilities,” said AAP leader Surel Tilve.

AAP has been demanding for the inclusion of DDSSY scheme for COVID treatment in the private hospitals as it will be a huge economic relief for every Goan.

“Looks like Lobo has some vested interest, the way he welcomed the cancellation of DDSSY inclusion notification tells the story. The Goans are reeling under job and business loss. The expense incurred on COVID treatment is adding salt to their wounds. We all know that the government hospitals have a limited capacity, need of the hour is to provide affordable treatment in the private hospitals and DDSSY was a welcome step to it,” said Tilve.

“Lobo should to be more vocal towards the issues of common man,” he added.
