Even as five Congress MLAs skipped the CLP meeting on Tuesday raising eyebrows over the unity in the Opposition camp, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Chandrakant Babu Kavalekar said that all fifteen will be a united force during the Assembly session. Stating that the five MLAs were either out of station or had to be present elsewhere, Kavalekar said, “Luizinho Faleiro had to leave for Delhi so he had come earlier and left, Digambar Kamat was attending the Goa Revolution Day function, Clafasio Dias and Jennifer Monserrate are out of station and Babush (Monserrate) just arrived earlier in the morning and excused himself due to travel tiredness.” Responding to a question on the unity amidst speculations of Congress MLAs defecting to the BJP, he said that all the MLAs are united in their fight against the government and all will be present during the Assembly session. “We are fifteen and all of us will be together. If someone wants to support the Opposition, they are welcome but the fifteen are together”, he added.
