PANJIM: The Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge has directed that only “remand” and “urgent” matters will be taken up for hearing while other matters will be given dates. The decision has reportedly been taken in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases on the State.

“…the Advocates and litigants are informed that only ‘remand’ and ‘urgent’ matters will be taken up, and dates will be given in other matters. They are requested to collect the date from Case Information System (CIS) and not to enter the Court premises/Open courts unless their presence is absolutely necessary,” reads the order by Principal District and Sessions Judge Irshad Agha on Thursday.
In the wake of surging cases of COVID-19 in the State, the High Court of Bombay at Goa had this week revised the working timings of subordinate courts. As per the notice, all courts shall continue to function in two shifts and take up remand and urgent matters only in open court with effect from April 7, 2021.
