MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday placed Sooraj Naik Pawar under preventive custody as he had reportedly threatened one person at Arlem.
Meanwhile, Anthony Barbosa complained to Maina-Curtorim police against Pawar for defamation and spreading false information on social media.

Barbosa in his complaint accused Pawar of defaming him and BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo by circulating photographs and text messages stating that hundreds of empty envelopes with his and Dempo’s photographs were found in Raia. He asserted that he had not prepared any such envelopes nor were they prepared at the instructions of Dempo or any other BJP worker.
