In a letter to Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, Reginaldo has said that he has been receiving messages from Goans in Goa and overseas stating that airports in many parts of India have already opened or are in the process of opening up for regular international flights to land after five months of lockdowns which was imposed on account of pandemic.

“As a corollary, these Goans have requested for immediate reopening of Goa’s Dabolim airport to international flights to land and take off. It is given to understand that even Chennai International Airport will also be soon reopened for regular international flights. I request your good self that it is high time that Goa must reopen Goa Dabolim airport to regular international flights to land and the State should not falter at all in following safety protocols like isolation rooms, disinfection of luggage, maintaining of social distancing amongst the passenger, airport and airlines staff” the letter stated.
