MARGAO: The South Goa Collector convened a meeting of the disaster management committee to review the pre-monsoon preparation, on Tuesday.
The Collector said that this was the first meeting before the monsoon and similar meetings would be held in the coming months.
The meeting reviewed department wise action plan for monsoon 2017, report on last year’s monsoon activity, issues faced and an action taken plan for 2017; setting up of control room, clearing of all drains, trimming of dangerous branches and desilting water course.
Collector Swapnil Naik (IAS) informed that he had written to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Goa to relax the code of conduct in places to carry out pre-monsoon works and that the CEO has agreed to do so.
