People who witnessed the dirt-filled cloudy atmosphere reportedly felt that some work must be underway in the neighbourhood and the dust must have clogged the surroundings, with some attributing the situation because of some unknown crushing unit emanating the dirt in the sky.
However, word spread that similar situation was witnessed in other parts too and also beyond the taluka.
The dusty skies could be seen even during mid-day, as the sun mostly remained covered for the better part.
In Ponda, the hills remained invisible. Hills and buildings in Ponda city, Farmagudi and surrounding villages are covered with dust since the last two days.
