PANJIM: Aam Admi Party (AAP) has lodged a complaint with CBI-Goa against the present and former chief ministers, and PWD minister in the CDM Smith bribery case.
In the complaint against CM Manohar Parrikar, ex-CMs Laxmikant Parsekar, Digambar Kamat and Churchill Alemao, and PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, AAP has asked CBI to act within 30 days failing which it will take further action.
The party’s complaint comes after Anti Corruption Branch failed to act on AAP’s letter last year demanding an FIR in the international bribery case.
The criminal division of the United States Justice Department had stated that between 2011 and 2015, employees of CDM Smith’s division responsible for operations in India illegally paid USD 25,000 to officials in Goa in relation to a water project contract.
AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes said the CDM Smith case is identical to the Louis Berger bribery scam and that strict action should be taken against the accused.
Herald contacted ACB to get an update on the complaint to which an official said they are examining the matter before registering an offence.
