VASCO: Reacting strongly to TTAG president Savio Messias’ remark that tourists have right to choose the mode of transport and that nobody can dictate terms to them, members of the Tourist Taxi Union of Mormugao claim that they have been following GTDC tour rates.
At a press briefing, the union members have also claimed that they earn bread and butter only on tourist taxis especially during tourist season and added that the recent allegations of harassment by tourist taxis have put them in a bad light.
They claimed that tourist taxis charge Rs 3,000 per taxi for the entire tour whereas the travel and tour buses overcharge.
TTAG president Savio Messias had stated that tourists visiting Goa have right to choose mode of transport as per their convenience.
