MARGAO: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday organised “Food Kit Distribution” programme at the ESI Hospital, here, which is designated as COVID Hospital to mark the 50th birthday of former Congress president and National leader Rahul Gandhi.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Vice President Altinho Gomes, local councillors Dorris Teixeira, Manoj Masurkar and others were present.
The food kits were handed over to Dr Ira Almeida and Dr Vishawajit Phaldessai by the CLP leader.
All observed two minutes silence paying tributes to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives on the India-China border four days back.
The Congress leaders prayed for the good health of all including the COVID positive patients, medical fraternity and health workers and their families.
GPCC Vice President Altinho Gomes welcomed. GPCC Secretary Damodar Shirodkar thanked the doctors and medical Staff for their noble service at COVID Hospital.
Meanwhile, the South Goa District Congress Committee distributed free hand sanitisers and face masks to the shopkeepers, motorcycle pilots and the people at market places of South Goa.
The Congress organised various activities and programmes in many villages of South Goa constituencies.
