MARGAO: A woman was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck while two others were injured in an accident reported along the Rawanfond-Navelim road.
According to Margao police, the incident occurred when Francis D’Mello and Fatima Rebello, who were travelling on a motorcycle from Rawanfond to Cuncolim, dashed against an oncoming 19-year-old rider Sidharth Kuncolienkar.
Unfortunately, due to the collision, Fatima fell on the road and was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck which was proceeding in the same direction. Both Francis and Sidharth are undergoing treatment at Hospicio. Margao Police have arrested the 24-year-old truck driver Tikchan Rao from Orissa.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old rider Sagar Banal Naik from Marcaim and currently residing at Shiroda who had sustained serious head injuries in a self accident died on Sunday in GMC.
However, Ponda police could not take his statement as his condition was critical. the victim succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening. PSI Bakre is investigating.
