PANJIM: The team of Meliston Periera and Melroy Souza emerged champs in the boy’s category at one-day all-Goa football tie-breaker tournament for under-16 boys and girls organized by Kaykee Youth Club, at Dongorim-Majorda, on Friday. In all 60 teams took part in the tournament, which included 40 teams in boys and 20 teams in girls.
Meliston and Melroy defeated the pairing of Silvan Oliveira and Thomas D’Costa in the final. Ratnabia Chawhan got the better of Freeda Fernandes in the final of the girl’s category.
Fr Jaoa Camilo, rector of Agnel Ashram, Verna was the chief guest while Fr Cidloy Furtado, assistant director of Agnel Ashram was the guest of honour and gave away the prizes.
