RAIA: Sao Jose de Areal blanked Chandor Club 2-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of 24th Bro Eulalio Vaz memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
The match started on a fast pace and Chandor Club got the first chance to score but Yadwad failed to hit the target. In the 8th minute, Velan Soares of Sao Jose de Areal captilised on Chandor Club goalkeeper error to tap the ball in the open net, to lead 1-0 at half time.
As the match entered into the second session, rain started to pour and became difficult to control the ball. Chandor Club tried to come back but failed to find the equaliser. In the last quarter, Sao Jose de Areal increased their tally through Josley Gomes to seal the fate of Chandor Club.
