Tragic Bus Fire on Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway Claims 12 Lives, 15 Injured

At least 12 people were killed and 15 others injured when a sleeper bus carrying 42 passengers caught fire on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district early Friday morning.

The incident occurred near Chinnatekur village when the bus, operated by Kaleshwaram Travels, collided with a motorcycle before bursting into flames.

Fire brigade officials confirmed that the blaze has been extinguished, and cooling operations are ongoing. Authorities are working to ascertain the exact number of casualties. So far, 12 bodies have been recovered from the charred bus, and 15 passengers with burn injuries have been shifted to nearby hospitals.

Police stated that the bus had 42 occupants at the time, including the driver and assistant. Investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
