Social activist Kashinath Shetye on Thursday morning visited the North Goa Collector’s Office to seek clarification regarding the detention of an Assistant Engineer (AE) from the Electricity Department by the Colvale Police.
According to sources, the officer was reportedly detained on the instructions of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Suyash Khandeparkar. The reason behind the action remains unclear, prompting Shetye to approach the district authorities to demand transparency and accountability in the matter.
The incident has drawn attention from various quarters within the Electricity Department, with reports suggesting that officials have expressed concern over the manner of the detention.
