The story revolves around Ruzar (Rosario Botelho), his spouse Priscila (Priscila) and their only son Mark (Alwyn D’Souza), who is an engineer. Mark’s mother cannot do without her son, and every time he steps out of the house, she gets upset and tense. When Mark reveals his plan to go to Canada with his fiancée, Zinia (Sonia), his mother is very supportive, but his father is not interested. Finally, Mark and Zinia pave their way to Canada, while back home, Priscila is seriously ill. Ruzar coaxes his son to return home, but Mark is dominated by his wife, Sonia and shows no inclination to come to Goa. And when he does a little later, leaving behind his wife in Canada, he wishes that his mom should pass away to avoid another trip for the funeral. Tiatr Review The unexpected passing away of Priscila leaves Ruzar all alone at home. Meanwhile, a builder from Delhi (Xavier de Maina) steps in, showing willingness to buy the house, but Ruzar is not ready to do so. When the parish priest (Manuel Dias) steps in, Ruzar reveals the threat received from the Delhi builder. The priest handles the whole situation, and when the house is handed over to the priest, it is converted into an aged home. All the inmates, namely Jacob (Caetano), Nato (Mathew), Humbert (Roque), Sally (Dominic) and teacher Chitra, who were earlier under the care of ‘TO POROT AILO’ the priest, are shifted to Ruzar’s house. Ruzar goes into depression, and the inmates try their level best to keep him in a cheerful mood. What follows next can be seen during the second half of the drama. Gripped by illness, comedian Dominic was away from the Konkani stage for quite some time. But now, he has made a comeback on the tiatr stage with his tiatr ‘To Porot Ailo’. It throws light on dose of laughter pills. But the comedy scenes tend to drag most of the time. the migration of Goans, abandoned Goan houses being grabbed by the government and the dire consequences that await the Goan community. The priest provides food for thought during his delivery. Performance-wise, Rosario Botelho stands tall as the head of the family and he is ably supported by Priscila as spouse. The main cast receives backing from Alwyn and Sonia as a young couple. Manuel Dias as a priest and Xavier de Maina as the Delhi builder, have done justice to their respective characters. In the comic acts, there’s comedian Dominic taking along with him two of his brothers, Luis Bachan and Roque, and Caetano, Mathew and Chitra and they entertain the audience with a good In the category of songs, Ave and Alias come for the opening song, followed by solos from Xavier Gomes, Leslie, Marcus Vaz, Ave, Alika, Rons and Xavier de Maina. Other songs are by Xavier de Maina and Priscila, Alias and Alika and a trio by Xavier de Maina, Marcus Vaz and Ave. A political solo by Olga Vaz receives an encore. A quartet went amiss in the show. Members of the band were young musicians and they gave a good performance, but the backing by the keyboardist was below the mark.
