BJP leader Reshma Sandeep Bandodkar from the Reis Magos constituency has been elected unopposed as the President (Chairperson) of the North Goa Zilla Panchayat. Alongside her, Namdev Babal Chari, the elected representative from Honda, was also chosen unopposed as the Vice President (Vice Chairperson) of the district body on Tuesday.
Both leaders secured the top posts without contest, reflecting a clear consensus among the elected Zilla Panchayat members. Their appointments followed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s formal declaration of candidates ahead of the leadership vote.
The unopposed election results come soon after the Goa Zilla Panchayat polls, where the BJP and its allies secured a majority in the 25-member North Goa Zilla Panchayat, consolidating the party’s position in the rural local body.
As the new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, Bandodkar and Chari will lead the council’s efforts in strengthening rural infrastructure, sanitation services and community development initiatives across North Goa during their term.
