‘Footprints of Hope’ reflects Goa’s rich cultural heritage, will feature the works of 62 artists from diverse faith backgrounds, each presenting pieces that embody the enduring legacy of Saint Francis Xavier, a revered figure in Goa. The inauguration will be officiated by Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, who will emphasize the Saint’s lasting impact on the identity and culture of Goa. The event will also be attended by the Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman, Rev Simião Purificação Fernandes, Fr Henry Falcão, the Convenor of the Exposition Committee, as well as the Curators and contributing artists.
The exhibition, thoughtfully organized with a focus on contemporary significance, offers attendees an opportunity for introspection through a variety of paintings. Certain artworks depict him with a Crucifix, symbolizing his dedication to disseminating the Gospel, while others illustrate him with a flaming heart and lily, signifying his profound love for God and commitment to purity.
