Telangana Minister and former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin on Saturday said Bangladesh would suffer losses if it chooses not to travel to India for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 matches. Speaking to ANI, Azharuddin dismissed Bangladesh’s concerns over safety and security, saying several international teams are currently touring India without issues. He pointed out that New Zealand are playing in the country at present, while South Africa toured India recently. Azharuddin added that once World Cup fixtures are scheduled, shifting matches is extremely difficult. His remarks come after the Bangladesh Cricket Board requested the ICC to move their matches out of India citing security concerns. The ICC has rejected the request, though Bangladesh has reiterated its stance of not playing in India.
