Law Will Take Its Course, Justice Will Prevail: MLA Delilah Lobo on Arpora-Nagoa VP Arrests

MLA Delilah Lobo has reacted to the arrest of the disqualified Sarpanch and the suspended Secretary of the Arpora-Nagoa Village Panchayat, stating that the law will take its own course and justice will ultimately prevail.

Referring to the statement made earlier by the Chief Minister, Lobo said that all those involved would be taken to task and action would be initiated strictly in accordance with the law. She emphasised that accountability was essential and no individual should be above legal scrutiny.

However, the MLA expressed concern over what she described as the politicisation of the Sarpanch’s interrogation in connection with the tragic club fire incident that claimed 25 lives. She noted that the entire village had been summoned during the inquiry and alleged that opposition parties had attempted to turn the issue into a political tool ahead of the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections.

Lobo cautioned against seeking political mileage from a tragedy of such magnitude, reiterating that the focus should remain on justice for the victims. She maintained that due process must be allowed to function independently, without political interference, and assured that the truth would eventually come to light.
