Goa Police are investigating the alleged theft of 400 crore in demonetised notes, recovered from two containers. Karnataka and Maharashtra police have joined the probe as the containers, carrying 2000-rupee currency, were moving from Goa-Karnataka border to Maharashtra when the theft occurred at Chorla Chat. So far, Nashik Police have arrested four accused, though the main suspect, reportedly a builder, is still at large. Authorities are examining the case from a hawala operations perspective, making it a multi-state investigation into this unusual crime.
