One of India’s earliest and most successful streaming franchises, Mirzapur, is set to conclude its journey with a theatrical release. The makers announced on Thursday that Mirzapur The Movie, which continues the story after Season 3, will arrive in cinemas on September 4 this year. Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment shared the official poster, showing a convoy of SUVs moving along a winding road, with the title and release date highlighted. The caption read, “Ab dekhiye bhaukaal bade parde par.”
The film will bring back popular characters including Kaleen Bhaiya, played by Pankaj Tripathi, and Guddu Bhaiya, portrayed by Ali Fazal. Divyenndu’s Munna Tripathi is also set to return, despite his character’s death in the series. The ensemble cast features names like Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar and others. Vikrant Massey will not be returning, with reports suggesting Jitendra Kumar has replaced him.
The movie has completed filming and is currently in post-production. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film promises more rivalry, revenge and power struggles in Mirzapur.
