Goa Government to Hold Wetland Meeting on Bondvoll Lake Issues on Feb 11

Villagers from Santa Cruz have said that a key meeting regarding Bondvoll Lake and wetland issues has been scheduled for February 11. According to locals, the meeting will be held with the Wetland Authority of the Goa Government, where Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant serves as the chairman.

Residents claimed that the Chief Minister has so far assured them that their concerns will be addressed, particularly demands for a complete re-survey of the Bondvoll Lake area and the declaration of its zone of influence.

The villagers said they have decided to wait until the February 11 meeting before taking their next step. They added that the outcome of the discussion will determine further action to protect the lake and surrounding wetland region.
