PERNEM: In a tragic incident, a mother and son from Korgao in Pernem allegedly died by suicide at a homestay in Devgad, Maharashtra, on Saturday.
According to Devgad police, the deceased have been identified as Sharada Gawas (60) and Sudesh Gawas (35), residents of Bhalkhazan in Korgao, Pernem taluka. The duo had checked into the beachside homestay on Friday night.

The exact reason behind the alleged suicide is not yet known.
Devgad police conducted the panchanama at the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway, police said.
