A Gujarat-registered car rammed into an electricity transformer in Calangute, triggering a blaze that destroyed the transformer and damaged a parked rent-a-car.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was allegedly speeding when it lost control and crashed into the roadside transformer. The impact sparked a fire, leading to panic in the area.

Five tourists were inside the car at the time of the accident. While all occupants managed to escape the vehicle, two sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers were reported to be safe.
The collision also caused damage to a nearby parked rent-a-car.
Authorities reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
