The Indian Embassy in Iran on Monday issued an urgent advisory asking all Indian nationals to leave the country amid rising fears of conflict in the Middle East as tensions between Tehran and United States continue to escalate.
In the latest advisory, the mission urged students, pilgrims, businesspersons and tourists to depart Iran by all available means of transport, including commercial flights. The embassy said the directive was issued in continuation of the Government of India’s January 5 advisory and in view of the evolving security situation.

The mission reiterated its January 14 warning, advising Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) to exercise caution, avoid protest sites and remain in regular contact with the embassy while closely monitoring local media updates. Nationals were also asked to keep passports and other immigration documents readily accessible.
The embassy shared emergency helpline numbers and an email for assistance. The advisory comes as student protests entered their second day in Iran while Tehran and Washington continue negotiations over a potential nuclear agreement. The next round of talks is scheduled in Geneva later this week.
