A 38-year-old man who had been missing since Saturday afternoon was found dead inside a freezer at a vegetarian biryani shop in Lucknow on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Pal. His body was recovered from a deep freezer at the shop located opposite GCRG College. According to officials, the outlet is a temporary structure with tin walls on three sides and no gate. The freezer was reportedly disconnected, and the shop had remained closed for the past three days.

A senior police officer said there were no visible injury marks on the body, and the exact cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem examination. Police are in touch with the victim’s family members.
The shop owner, Ajay, a resident of Bakshi’s Talab, discovered the body when he arrived to collect supplies and immediately informed authorities. Vijay Pal was identified through his mobile phone and Aadhaar card found at the scene.
Police also noted that one of his slippers was found near the college, while the other was inside the shop. An investigation is underway.
