The Maharashtra Transporters Action Committee (M-TAC) has announced that transport operators across the state will begin an indefinite strike starting tomorrow.
The decision follows a high-level meeting held on March 2 at the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) headquarters, which ended without any concrete written assurances from the authorities. After the meeting failed to resolve their concerns, the committee reaffirmed its plan to launch a major protest gathering at Azad Maidan.

According to M-TAC, the strike will not be limited to heavy trucks but will involve a wide range of transport services. Operators of school buses, private tourist buses, tempos, taxis and autorickshaws have also extended their support to the agitation.
With multiple transport sectors joining the protest, the committee indicated that the strike could bring large parts of Maharashtra’s transport network to a standstill if their demands remain unaddressed. Authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely as the statewide agitation begins.
