BJP hails govt for reviving mining

PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday congratulated the Pramod Sawant led government for reviving the mining industry and rural economy, which was in doldrums due to closer of iron ore mining sector since 2012.

Addressing mediapersons, BJP spokesperson Adv Yatish Naik appreciated the State government’s step of e-auction of mining leases to revive the sector.  

He said that the mining sector is set to be revived in a manner which will help the state economy like never before. “The revival of mining industry will help in revenue generation for state, strengthen the rural economy, employment generation and help the dependents to ensure better livelihood,” Naik said. 

He said that the Chief Minister’s effort has shown result in the form of reduction in export duty on ore below 58 grade, the Supreme Court allowing the State to decide on long pending issue of dump handling and now the e-auction of leases. 

“These decisions are in the interest of State and its people,” Naik said, while adding that the ‘BJP government has managed to deliver its poll promise on mining’.

Naik also said that State has managed to successfully carry out the auction process.
