While Rohit Sharma has been relatively consistent with 221 runs in limited appearances, the same cannot be said for Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Suryakumar, the current India T20I captain, has struggled for form, scoring just 195 runs in 10 matches. Tilak Varma, despite registering a century, has lacked consistency and has failed to anchor the middle order effectively.
On the bowling front, there have been concerns as well. Although a few bowlers have shown promise, Jasprit Bumrah has had an unusually quiet season, picking up only three wickets in 10 matches—far below expectations for a player of his calibre.
The team management believes that Mumbai Indians have been slow to adapt to the evolving demands of the tournament rather than lacking leadership. There is still confidence within the camp that a turnaround is possible. With several matches left, the franchise hopes that improved performances from its core players can revive their campaign and keep their playoff hopes alive.
