A facilitation camp will be organised at Government High School Surla from May 20 to May 22, 2026, to assist affected farmers and legal heirs in submitting long-pending compensation claims related to crop losses caused by mining-induced siltation.
The camp is being conducted by the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Bicholim, acting as Court Commissioner in compliance with directions issued by the Bombay High Court at Goa.

Officials stated that the camp will function daily from 10 am to 5 pm and will facilitate claim submissions linked to nearly 300 land sub-divisions after document verification.
Eligible beneficiaries have been instructed to carry all necessary documents, including Form I & XIV, valid identity proof, bank account details, legal heirship documents wherever applicable, No Objection Certificates (NOC) or consent letters from co-heirs or co-owners, and an indemnity bond executed on ₹100 stamp paper.
The initiative aims to streamline the process for affected families seeking compensation for agricultural losses allegedly caused by mining-related siltation in the region.
