According to police, the case dates back to August 2023, when a group allegedly impersonated officials of the Delhi Narcotics Bureau and conducted a fake raid at the complainant’s bungalow in Mapusa.

Investigators said the businessman was allegedly threatened, assaulted, and blackmailed using compromising videos during the operation. The accused reportedly extorted around Rs 30 lakh from the victim.

Police further stated that the racket allegedly targeted affluent businessmen through honeytraps, hidden cameras, and threats of public exposure.

Authorities suspect the accused were part of a larger interstate sextortion syndicate operating across multiple states, and further investigations are underway to identify other members linked to the network.
