Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Granted 21-Day Furlough, Set to Visit Sirsa Dera

Rohtak: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for the rape of two women disciples, has been granted another 21-day furlough.

Ram Rahim, currently lodged at Haryana’s Sunaria jail in Rohtak, has been allowed to leave prison and travel to the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa. He is expected to reach the Sirsa dera following his release.

The latest furlough marks yet another temporary release for the jailed Dera chief. With this period of leave, Ram Rahim has now been released from prison on 17 occasions, according to available information.

During several of his earlier temporary releases, Ram Rahim stayed at the Dera’s Barnawa ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. However, he has increasingly been permitted to stay at the Sirsa headquarters.

The latest furlough will mark his third consecutive visit to the Sirsa dera.
