Bengaluru Police have issued a strict advisory ahead of the IPL 2026 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT), urging fans to avoid public celebrations that could disturb law and order in the city.
RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, have reached their second consecutive final and will face GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31. With emotions running high after a strong season, authorities are taking preventive measures to avoid any untoward incidents in Bengaluru.

The advisory comes in the backdrop of last year’s tragic stampede near M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which claimed 11 lives during celebrations, prompting heightened security this year.
Police have clearly instructed fans not to burst crackers, hold road celebrations, or gather in large groups in public spaces after the final. Officials have also banned the installation of LED screens facing public roads without prior permission.
Furthermore, existing LED screens in public areas have been prohibited from broadcasting the match. Shopping malls, pubs, and commercial establishments have also been directed not to set up public viewing screens.
Authorities have also warned against posting or sharing provocative or hateful content on social media. The advisory states that fans should avoid any form of provocation that could lead to clashes or communal tension.
“Under the pretext of the match result, fans of other teams should not be provoked, insulted, or engaged in behaviour that may lead to fights,” the police statement said.
With the final expected to attract massive attention, both online and offline, Bengaluru Police have deployed precautionary measures to ensure safety and prevent unnecessary gatherings.
