Early ticket sales for India’s upcoming 12-match tour of New Zealand have broken records, with 26,000 tickets purchased in the first 48 hours of the host board’s pre-sale. The pre-sale, exclusive to New Zealand Cricket’s Cricket Nation members, went live on Monday and quickly generated widespread fan interest across key host cities.
White-ball fixtures scheduled for Auckland’s Eden Park are currently leading total sales volume. High demand has also been registered in Christchurch and Wellington. Hagley Oval in Christchurch, which holds a capacity of 9,000 spectators, is already tracking toward complete sell-outs for the opening two T20 Internationals on October 22 and 24, as well as the second Test set for late November.
According to New Zealand Cricket’s chief marketing and commercial officer, Glenn Critchley, maintaining ticket prices from the previous season—starting under $30 with a member access code—played a significant role in driving the rapid response. While general public sales are scheduled to open on September 7, fans can still access the discounted pre-sale phase by registering for the board’s membership program.
