South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes on Monday visited Bankal and Talsai villages in Sanguem following reports highlighting concerns over a damaged wooden bridge and a persistent drinking water shortage in the area.
The MP’s visit comes after media reports drew attention to the condition of the wooden bridge at Bankal village and the difficulties faced by residents of Talsai village due to inadequate drinking water supply.

During his visit, Fernandes interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances regarding the infrastructure and water supply issues affecting their daily lives. Villagers reportedly briefed him on the challenges they have been facing and urged authorities to take prompt corrective measures.
Addressing the residents, Fernandes assured them that efforts would be made to ensure that their demands are addressed and that the issues are resolved at the earliest. He emphasized the importance of providing basic infrastructure and essential services to rural communities and assured villagers that the concerns raised would be taken up with the relevant authorities.
The visit was welcomed by residents, who expressed hope that the intervention would lead to quicker action on the long-pending issues affecting the two villages.
