In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Mormugao constituency, MLA Sankalp Amonkar has launched a free ambulance service, a hearse van, and two mobile morgues to strengthen emergency and public healthcare support for residents.
The initiative has been introduced with the support of the Rotary Club of Kolhapur Evolve and the Rotary Club of Vasco Port Town. A dedicated 24×7 helpline (9706333108) has also been made operational to ensure prompt access to the services during emergencies.

Speaking on the occasion, Amonkar highlighted the critical importance of timely ambulance services in saving lives and providing immediate medical assistance during emergencies. He said the initiative aims to ensure that residents receive swift and reliable transportation for medical emergencies as well as dignified post-death services.
The launch marks a significant addition to emergency response infrastructure in Mormugao, with the free ambulance, hearse van, and mobile morgue facilities expected to benefit people across the constituency, particularly those who are unable to afford such services.
