Dabolim Airport Preferred by Goans; ₹200 Crore Upgradation and Parking Expansion Planned, Says Mauvin Godinho

Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho has said that Dabolim Airport continues to be the most preferred airport for Goans due to its central location and easy accessibility, while highlighting major infrastructure upgrades undertaken to enhance passenger services.

Speaking during the Yatri Diwas celebrations in the presence of Airport Director Lt. Akash Deep, Godinho stated that nearly ₹200 crore has been invested in the airport’s modernisation to improve facilities and provide a better travel experience for passengers.

The minister also revealed that plans are underway to significantly expand parking facilities by developing a large parcel of land located opposite the airport. The proposed expansion is expected to ease congestion and cater to the increasing number of passengers and vehicles accessing the airport.

Godinho emphasised that the ongoing infrastructure improvements reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening Dabolim Airport’s role as a key transportation hub while ensuring greater convenience for travellers across Goa.
