INDIA HITS BACK AT PAKISTAN’S KHAWAJA ASIF, CALLS REMARKS ON PM MODI ‘MENTALLY UNSTABLE’

India on Sunday strongly rejected remarks made by Khawaja Asif after the Pakistani defence minister questioned the international honour conferred on Narendra Modi by Seychelles.

The sharp response came after Asif cast doubt on the legitimacy of the Guardian of the Blue Horizon Presidential Distinction, an award presented to Prime Minister Modi during his recent visit to Seychelles. His comments prompted an equally forceful reaction from Indian government sources, who dismissed his criticism as baseless and reflective of ignorance.

According to government sources, Asif’s remarks highlighted the state of Pakistan’s political leadership and showed a lack of understanding of international diplomatic honours. They also accused the Pakistani minister of making unnecessary comments on issues beyond his knowledge.

Responding to Asif’s criticism, the sources said, “That he could be entrusted with his current responsibility says much about today’s Pakistan. Clearly, he has no day job and passes time by making silly comments on matters of which he has little knowledge. Envy is always a bad motivation.”

The exchange marks the latest war of words between India and Pakistan, with diplomatic rhetoric continuing to intensify over political developments and international engagements. Prime Minister Modi received the prestigious distinction from the Seychelles government during his visit, recognising India’s growing partnership with the island nation and its contribution to regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean.

The latest episode adds to the ongoing tensions between the two neighbours, with both sides continuing to trade sharp remarks over diplomatic and political issues.
