Chimbel Villagers Give Goa Govt 7-Day Deadline to Restore Toyyar Lake Land

Residents of Chimbel have given the Goa government a seven-day deadline to restore the Toyyar Lake land, warning of a fresh agitation if the promised action is not taken within the stipulated period.

A delegation of villagers met Deputy Collector Praveen Parab and submitted a memorandum highlighting the delay in restoring the lake land following the scrapping of the proposed Unity Mall project.

During the meeting, the Deputy Collector assured the villagers that the matter would be addressed within seven days.

The villagers, however, cautioned that they would resume their protest if the restoration of the Toyyar Lake land is not initiated within the timeframe assured by the administration.
