Kala Rakhonn Mandd on Friday criticised Kala Academy Chairman Babu Kavlekar, alleging that he lacks adequate knowledge about the functioning of the Kala Academy and expressing disappointment over the delay in the proposed Open Air Theatre project.
Addressing the media, members of the cultural organisation claimed that the Kala Academy’s Member Secretary had failed to fulfil an assurance to lay the foundation stone for the Open Air Theatre.

Warning of intensified protests, the group said it would launch a major agitation against the government if the foundation stone is not laid as promised.
The organisation also marked the third anniversary of its campaign for the Open Air Theatre with a symbolic protest, reiterating its commitment to preserving and promoting Goa’s cultural heritage.
Kala Rakhonn Mandd urged the authorities to honour their commitments and expedite the project, stating that the Open Air Theatre is an important cultural infrastructure that has long been awaited by the artistic community.
