Goa Cyber Crime Police Bust Illegal Call Centre, Arrest Six in US Gift Card Scam

Goa Cyber Crime Police have busted an illegal call centre operating in South Goa and arrested six persons for allegedly running a fraud targeting citizens in the United States.

According to police, the accused allegedly posed as representatives of loan companies and cheated victims through a gift card scam. The fraudulent operation is believed to have targeted US nationals by impersonating legitimate financial service providers.

During the raid, police seized six laptops, six iPhones, headphones, networking equipment, and other electronic devices. Cash amounting to ₹8 lakh was also recovered from the premises.

The six accused have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the extent of the fraud, identify additional suspects, and trace the proceeds of the alleged cybercrime.
