Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday described the ongoing protests over alleged examination irregularities as a “matter of serious concern”, accusing some political parties of using students and youth as “political tools” for vested interests.
In a statement to Doordarshan and ANI, Singh said the Narendra Modi-led government remains committed to fulfilling the aspirations of young people and addressing their concerns.
He alleged that a “manufactured sense of anger” was being created to mislead students and the public. Reiterating the Centre’s willingness to discuss all issues in Parliament, Singh said the Opposition should raise its concerns inside the House instead of taking them to the streets.
He expressed confidence that India’s youth would reject attempts to mislead them and choose the path of progress, development and nation-building.
