Odisha Man Arrested with ₹85,000 Worth of Ganja in Calangute

The Calangute Police have arrested a 34-year-old man from Odisha for allegedly possessing 852 grams of ganja valued at approximately ₹85,000 in Calangute.

The accused has been identified as Subrata, son of Bimala Behara, a resident of Odisha. He was apprehended at Naikawado, Calangute, during a police operation.

According to police, officers recovered 852 grams of ganja from the accused’s possession. The seized contraband has an estimated market value of ₹85,000.

A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the narcotics and whether others are involved in the case.

Police are continuing their probe into the matter.
