Delhi Police is preparing to initiate passport cancellation proceedings against individuals accused of participating in violence during the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) Chalo Sansad march, according to police sources. The proposed move comes alongside criminal proceedings already being initiated against those identified in connection with the unrest.
The protest, held earlier this week, turned violent after demonstrators allegedly attempted to breach security barricades near Parliament. In response, police used tear gas shells, lathi-charge and anti-riot vehicles to disperse the crowd. Several protesters and police personnel sustained minor injuries during the clashes.

According to sources, authorities are examining legal options to recommend the cancellation of passports of those found to have engaged in rioting. The move is intended to send a strong message against violent protests while continuing investigations into the incident.
Police are also reviewing CCTV footage, drone visuals and other evidence to identify individuals allegedly involved in damaging public property or attacking security personnel. Those found responsible are expected to face criminal charges under relevant provisions of the law.
The CJP has alleged excessive use of force by the police during the march and claimed that its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, was detained following the protest. The party has since announced plans for nationwide demonstrations over the alleged police action against students and protesters.
The Parliament march was organised to press demands related to alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. The confrontation has since intensified the political debate over the handling of student protests, with the issue continuing to dominate public discourse.
