In a separate proceeding, the GHRC has also recommended that the Goa government establish a unified grievance redressal mechanism for water-related complaints. Under the proposed system, the Department of Drinking Water would function as the single agency responsible for receiving consumer complaints and ensuring their timely resolution.

The Commission observed that a centralised mechanism would streamline the complaint process, improve coordination among departments and provide quicker relief to consumers facing water supply issues.

The GHRC’s intervention comes amid growing concerns over the drinking water situation in Korgao, with the Commission seeking accountability from the concerned authorities while also proposing structural reforms to improve public service delivery.
