Indian Railways has announced that 13 trains operating on the Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Rewari section will temporarily stop bypassing Delhi Cantt railway station for around 70 days due to ongoing redevelopment work. The change comes as part of a major station modernisation project involving the upgrade of Platforms 2 and 3.
According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway, a traffic block has been imposed to facilitate construction work, resulting in the temporary suspension of scheduled halts at Delhi Cantt for the affected trains. The revised arrangements will remain in place from August 1 until October 13, depending on the service.

Among the trains impacted are the Jodhpur–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express (22481), Jaipur–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Double Decker (12985), Ajmer–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Jan Shatabdi (12065), Barmer–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express (20487), Bhuj–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express (20983) and Jaisalmer–Kathgodam Ranikhet Express (15013).
Other affected services include the Bandra Terminus–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express (22949), Sabarmati–Varanasi Express (20963), Udaipur City–New Jalpaiguri Express (19601) and Bikaner–Howrah Express (12372). In the return direction, Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Bhuj Express (20984), Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Ajmer Jan Shatabdi (12066) and Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Bandra Terminus Express (22950) will also bypass Delhi Cantt during the notified period.
Railway authorities have advised passengers travelling on these trains to check their boarding and deboarding arrangements in advance, as the trains will continue their journey without stopping at Delhi Cantt. The redevelopment project is part of Indian Railways’ broader initiative to modernise railway stations, improve passenger amenities and enhance operational efficiency across the network. Once completed, the upgraded platforms are expected to provide better facilities and smoother train operations at the station.
